Student Associates Scheme
Student Associates Scheme (SAS)
All places on the scheme for this year have been filled and we are now operating a waiting list.
The Student Associates Scheme (SAS) introduces students to teaching as a career. Students will also be involved in the university’s Widening Participation programme, and have the opportunity to work with Gifted and Talented pupils in school.
How does the SAS Work?
The Student Associates Scheme (SAS) is a one year programme, which comprises a taught course and fifteen days of School Based Experience (SBE). Read more in the Scheme Outline.
University Students Go Back to School!
350 Exeter University students will be working in primary and secondary schools in Exeter and around the rest of the country in their vacation periods this academic year. The SAS scheme allows students to work alongside teachers and pupils in a variety of ways to gain experience of work and to participate in a wide range of activities with help and support from qualified staff. Students have found these placements of enormous interest and have become fully involved in helping pupils in and out of the classroom.
